Dragon Boat West

Just found out abt this through facebook and thought it could be interesting to some folks.

Its focusing on the sport of DB during this years Alcan. So put extra hours into looking good guys and gals, coz who knows ur mug might end up on the reel lol

some notes from the trailer:

- I like how some shots are taken from the water level
- Clearly a bunch of ppl didnt want their faces on camera, which affects how well a documentary movie will turn out.
- Props to the 2 blind paddlers. I wonder if they took a look at EOTD or some other physically challenged teams too?
- LOL @ one coach saying "Dont look at them!", referring to the paddler looking at the camera
- Its not a big deal but i saw a typo on the trailer already, and thats usually a no no haha
- ROFL! @ the "Its like being an animal and you have a fresh hot piece of meat at the finish line" analogy

I hope its directed well, coz im curious as to how the final product will be, especially the angle of the story and how they will portray it.

The dragon boat documentary is titled "In the Same Boat"
It is written/directed by Alfonso Chin, a former paddler on CC Riders (Columbia College) and presently with Booze Cruise (but not for RTA this year).

The teaser shows CC Riders racing against Gung Haggis Fat Choy. Booze Cruise and Eye of the Dragon, are also among the teams being followed and interviewed over the RTA DBF weekend.

RTA DBF Race Director Greg Lamb was interviewed during the Dragon Zone regatta.
Several key dragon boat leaders/organizers/coaches are being interviewed

Lots of cameras on race weekend all over the site.
Make sure you do your hair, wear your team uniform, and are looking pretty!
