Thanks

DCPC, I sent you a pm (personal message). Eye of the Dragon would be happy to have her come out.

I would also say that someone’s level of vision isn’t really an issue, which I’m sure most people already realize. So if the opportunity ever comes up don’t be scared to consider taking on someone with little or no sight, just judge that person the same as any other paddler, on attendance, strength, attitude or whatever your criteria is. Being blind is just a characteristic, like being tall or having brown hair. There are some other teams with lots of visually impaired paddlers but there’s also some teams with just one or two - Chix with Stix in Nanaimo have a visually impaired woman and Wasabi has a few. Or else feel free to send all the VI people you know to us, we'll whip them into a fierce paddling machine and then kick your butt some more haha.

I also want to say how much we love dragon boating, the camaraderie and the level of competition is fantastic. We really appreciate this sport. Paddle on.

I'll second that.  We had a fellow join our boat in kelowna last year and he fit in seemlessly, his vision was never a barrier or issue. And we were a platinum level boat.  If someone has the will, they'll find a way.
