Title: Paddle Wax
Post by: cjl8651 on June 23, 2008, 04:07:37 PM
What's the best way to clean wax off your paddle?  Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

A "credit" card of sorts can be used to effectively scrap it off. May take a bit of time to get every little bit off but it comes off fairly well with that.

If you're using paper towel, use it after you've scrapped most of the wax off with the credit card first unless you want to make sure that your paddle is getting enough fibre. You can also always use sponges.

wax melts with heat...

run your paddle handle under hot water.

Do NOT use an open flame.

This weekend, I was trying out "Gorilla Grip"
At first it was almost too sticky...
but it was good in the race...
and it wears off faster than wax.

I just leave it on...when it becomes a brown sludge you know it's well seasoned like a wok...
