sounds like fun.

i have a friend that had a hypr holo nui.  i have another "acquaintance" that has one.  my friend got rid of his.  when he compared it to some other oc1s in the area (mostly huki and kaku), he was not too happy with the build.  his iakus didn't match the boat and ama causing the ama to plow in the water (good for me since i could surf the waves that were coming off his ama).  the local rep is absolutely HORRIBLE (it took my buddy about 5 months to get some new iakus) and mr. foo (owner of hypr) doesn't have so good of a rep with responsiveness - unless you want to buy a new boat from him.

the acquaintance that has a hypr holo nui is pretty fast in his boat, but goes to WAR with his canoe when rigging/derigging it.  i looked over after the first oc1 race of this season and saw 3 people with their feet on the hull of the boat trying to get the front iaku out.  they couldn't get it out, thank God we had a trailer to take it home for him.

in a word, be VERY careful when buying a hypr.  it may be different in canada, but i'm not sure.

i'm not banging on hypr, i just want to make sure potential buyers do their research before.

hey Lard.... - sounds like your friend doesn't know how the rig works - cuz it 's pretty easy and secure.

every possible combination was attempted multiple times.  i'm assuming the rig works with a hammer and crowbar or blow torch.... ;)  the poor guy has a problem every time he wants to paddle.

i'd love to head up there for the huli-fest, errrr, i mean oc1 demo day, i love huli-ing boats but i bet the water is a bit chilly up there - it's getting a tad chilly down here too.
