I was contacted by one of my friends and he emailed me this request...

Scott rescued 6 black lab (mix) puppies out of the middle of the road on Saturday. PLEASE help me find them homes - otherwise, it's Animal Control - which means they only have 5 days. We've bathed them, sprayed them for fleas and de-wormed them....but we can't keep them.

They are currently in a kennel in my basement since I don't have a fence. I've lost
count of the number of rescue groups that I've contacted, only to be turned down due to no room. Please check with every dog person you know to see if they need a puppy.

Please e-mail [email protected] if you know anyone that wants one or more of these
adorable puppies.

I'd get one but I would have to find a home for myself when the wife kicks me out.....

Thanks Puppy and Lethal Weapon for your help!!!  However, the puppies have been saved and found great owners to care for them!!!  Once you see the word "free", lots of people wasted no time to try and scoop these cute black labs...

and lethal weapon...I know how you feel...I asked the wife about keeping one which was quickly met with the word "NO!"  no offence puppy...she still loves ya :lol:

Wow, I got the exact same photo in several e-mails from my PETA-centric friends.  So, Puppy, did you actually see the puppies or am I going to have to sell you some land in Nigeria?   :P

Moi, cynical???? Actually, I never saw the dogs, but I trust my friend would not lead me astray.....However, if it is a hoax, then I do apologize and my friend will be casterated. Yes, I do like dogs, especially puppies..... :)

I'm assuming that these puppies were found on the mainland somewhere?  A friend of mine sent me the same (exact same) pic with the sme story here in Vic... These puppies get around!

ok guys....yeah I sent the email to puppy and my intentions are the same...to save them...and i understand everyones concerns of a possible hoax but here is an email that i sent to a friend of mine yesterday regarding this...I also did not see the puppies...

"i understand your concerns of a possible hoax but I believe that this was a good one and not something to mislead anybody...my friend from work told me last week that they were given away already and have homes for them...and i trust her with the info she gives me...mind you if you do the email trail, it was only about 2 weeks ago and with the amount of contacts that go from people to people, this kind of email will spread like wild fire...
 
this is what i call the "never cry wolf" email...they are emails with good intentions only to be ruined and ignored because of similar emails in the passed that were scams...you know, i got a few other people that asked if it was a hoax and the only answer i have for that is try anyway...the dogs were free and it wouldn't hurt to inquire about it because if it were true and everyone thought it was a hoax, then the puppies get destroyed (that would have been sad)...the people that found the dogs weren't asking for money but for good homes for the puppies...the ones that did respond quickly ended up with the cute little puppies...anyway, my appologies if it sounds like i'm venting but i thought I'd feel better to explain it..."

i hope this clears this up so hoax or not, at least myself, puppy, lethal weapon and anyone else that responded to the email cares and believes we did the right thing...just my thoughts...

It was about 2 weeks ago that I received the email... On the off chance that it was for real I sent it out to some people that I thought might want them.  If it is true, and they did find good homes, WOOHOO!
