Title: 2008 Season Recruitment Drive Begins
Post by: DiggerPig on September 17, 2007, 08:58:13 AM
Hello Everyone,

It was another great year of Dragon Boating and kudos goes out to Puppy, Bernman, Lethal Weapon, etc ... and the other organizers from Water's Edge for running great events in Alcan, Vernon, and Calgary (only ones we attend).  You've proven what a class organization you are.  I would also like to thank all those people that volunteer your time to help run all the events and make them fun and run smoothly.

This year Sudden Impact Black successful moved from Rec division into the comp division with two top 3 finishes (Vernon and Calgary with FODB)  to go along with Comp A finals at Victoria, ADBF, and Bill Alley.

Next year we've set our sights on trying to qualify for the Canadian Club Crew Championships ... or at the very least more top 3 finishes in the Comp divisions at FCRCC Regatta, ADBF, Alcan, Vernon, and Victoria.  We are also looking at Harrison, Nanimo and potentially San Francisco next year.

We are looking for experienced and new paddlers for both our Comp team and Rec Team for next season.  We paddle on Cultus Lake in our own BUK and 6/16.  We pick our Black team based on TT's in OC-1's and we want to field the most competitive team possible.

If your interested in paddling with one of our teams and are willing to come out to Cultus Lake near Chilliwack we would be very interested in hearing from you.  We have most (if not all) of our Black team and Blue Team paddlers returning next year so we have a solid base.

Please PM me or email me at [email protected]

you can also check us out at www.suddenimpactdbteam.com

Thank-you

Hello Everyone,

So far we've had a couple of people respond to this post but we need more paddlers for both of our teams.  If anyone from the Fraser Valley Area (Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, etc) is interested in joining a fun mixed REC team or a fun but very competitive CCOMP team.  Please send us your information ([email protected]) or check us out at

www.suddenimpactdbteam.com.

We are paddling once a week in the off season (Saturday's) and many are starting up dryland training.

thanks

I begin to see, and understand how mechanically uninclined i am, plus am now discovering how computer illiterate i am! Lovely, just interested in picking up tips on how to stay in shape over the winter, so that i willnot be completely useless when the dragonboating begins. ...I mean, really, i just discovered the 'reply all' button on my computer, so navigating this website is a first for me, ever.
