wow... is this for real?!   kudos to the people that try to make money of anything and everything.  (i should have thought of that!)

will this be a channel that you could subscribe on cable or satellite?  or will it be a youtube style kind of site where people post videos and footage of races and events?

it's not a bad way to promote the sport.

i tried to search for the original "news" article as claimed by one of the people on that forum.  nothing on google stated that they were purchasing DBTV.  unless i can see solid proof, the validity of that article seems a little questionable.  further investigation, i discovered the domain name was registered under a Bobby Singerman under Turbo Communications Inc. (a small wed design company).  who this guy is, you can search on the internet, there is a local music band and a picture of the dude somewhere on the net.

things to ponder:

1.  why would a huge company such as Google invest $1.65 billion on this DBTV site.  if a huge decision like that was made it would be available to the public for investors in an official press release.
2.  the article refers to dragonboat as "rowing"... that's great where's the oars?
3.  launched in october 2007?  what year are we in again?  even copy and paste can't make a mistake like that.
4.  let's assume the site is a fun site created as a side project by some webdesigner.  ever thought about copyright infringement?  unauthorized use and representation of Grey Owl, ZRE, Burnwater, Typhoon 8, IDBF logos etc.

doesn't look like it's for real.  perhaps a hobby site?  teaser?

dude...  that post was a joke.  a funny.  ha ha ha.   it IS a site (as mentioned on the other forum) created as a project for a web designer, one who is probably a dragonboat fan/participant.
as for "rowing", dragonboat paddling is commonly refered to as "rowing" in other parts of the world.
and the logos, its basically free advertising, although the links should correspond with the actual sites.

Looks like there's a lot of work going into it. and it's going to be a real thing. Theyre trying to get on a majority of the races this coming year.

A paddler that just joined my team from the east coast is apparently working for them as a comentator.
