Title: Where & When are the Western Regional Qualifiers for 2008 CCWC? Post by: Dr. Evil on December 09, 2006, 11:02:23 PM I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the Western qualifiers for the 2008 CCWC in Penang would take place in Calgary during the Nationals (Aug 24-26, 2007), or even during the regular Calgary Festival like in 2005.
But when I look at the Dragon Boat Canada website it looks like they are trying to figure this out now by issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP): http://www.dragonboatcanada.org/Main.html So to me, this looks like qualifiers are still up in the air as to which event & venue will get to host. Post by: DBC on December 23, 2006, 03:23:09 AM The deadline for submission of bids to host qualifying races was yesterday. If no one put in a bid for the western region then you'll probably need to qualify in Calgary at National Championships. For Central Region likely in Welland and Montreal in the Eastern Region.
