Title: Rainier Dragon Boat Race
Post by: Ayla_Paddles on October 15, 2006, 01:15:44 AM
Hello, paddlers.

Please add this new competitive dragon boat race to your racing
calendar: Saturday, May 12, 2007. The Rainier Dragons and
Washington Dragon Boat Association are proud to present an inaugural
dragon boat festival that will become another of the many premier
competitive dragon boat events in the Pacific Northwest. The
Festival is sanctioned by the Pacific Dragon Boat Association USA
(PDBA). The race is open to all teams from the U.S. and Canada, 250
and 500 meters, mixed and open teams. Prizes and more!

Come enjoy fast racing on the salt water of the Puget Sound, view the
snow capped majesty of Mt. Rainier to the east and the spectacular
Olympic Mountains to the west, all visible from the race venue.
Enjoy Tacoma, Washington, the City of Destiny, nestled in the heart
of the Pacific Northwest and is the cultural center for the South
Puget Sound Region.

Why is the event in May? To give everyone an opportunity to sharpen
their "racing chops" before major dragon boat events in the U.S. and
Canada. Use this event as a "season opener" for your team!

Our website is being updated to include team information and on-line
registration details. So, please visit our site within the next day
