Title: 2007 IDBF World CorCom Championships in Welland ON
Post by: Dr. Evil on October 09, 2006, 01:07:29 PM
Just wondering if anyone has any updates on the "other" World DB Championships that is suppose to happen in Welland Ontario in July 2007. All I know so far is that it is open to Corporate Teams (i.e. Banks, Manufacturers, Service Industries) and Community Teams (i.e. Charities, Youth Groups). Public Service (i.e. Police, Military, Firefighters are classified as "Corporate".

What I don't know (and hoping that someone can shed some light on)  are the following:

How do teams qualify? (i.e. Race offs?)
What is the % of paddlers on the team that have to be employed by the sponsoring company or organization? (I thought I read somewhere that it is suppose to be 50%)
Number of Premier Paddlers allowed? (I heard a limit of 2 but I don't know for sure)
Is this event still a go? The info from the IDBF, DBC and Welland DB Festival websites are minimal (unless I have totally missed this on those respective sites)

Any info that anyone can share is appreciated. Thanks.

Cheers.

This event is a GO and it should be a good one.  Bulletin 1 will be out in the New Year.  If you've never raced at the Welland National Watersport Centre it's a fabulous facility.  Niagara Falls just down the road too.  If you haven't been there lately it's like a mini Las Vegas these days.
