Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Post by: Nook on June 09, 2003, 04:24:39 PM I'm interested in hearing what people find fun about dragonboat.
I've heard a lot of different things, camaraderie, challenge, just being alive, but experience tells me there's a lot more to be uncovered. Just getting out there, being athletic? The beer garden? Seeing what Voon is going to wear as his sexual ambiguity grows ever so stronger? Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Post by: Photog on June 09, 2003, 04:29:39 PM Primary:
Meeting people on other teams for the most part. Making friends with them, learn new things. Have a consistant place/activity to go to twice a week. Secondary: Splashing chics to get their shirts wet. Splashing guys I like to bug (see below) to give them shrinkage. Tertiary: Making fun of Voon. Making fun of Monkey. Making fun of Shorty. Making fun of Motor. Making fun of Chaos. And then running my ass of when they get their sh!^ together and join forces to come after me. Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Splashing them makes them have shrinkage, whereas I remain full sized. Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Dragonboat hasn't been fun for me in years... it's pretty much a way of life/part-time job nowadays...
If the question is why am I still doing it, then it's for a couple reasons.. the camaraderie and the competition... and then there's also this promise to a friend I made last year... Funny...you didn't seem to be having that much fun when you were sitting in front of me last practice  Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? It's a really bad week for all allergy sufferers. Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Post by: zephyrantes on June 09, 2003, 11:48:47 PM Quote from: Photog No. My allergies were killing me. Post by: china hat on June 10, 2003, 12:15:08 AM It's nice to come out of hibernation after winter and just start feeling good about getting out on the water to exercise. ALTHOUGH.... I must say that dragonboating has been DETRIMENTAL to my arms. I'm not supposed to have larger arms than my brother-in-law! That being said, i can now kick his a$$ should he make fun of my arms. Ke ke ke. It's also nice to meet a bunch of people who are NICE and KIND enough NOT to scream at you if you "occationally" splash them. :)

You are either very fortunate or very likeable. Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? All thanks to dragonboat. I don't think having large arms is a problem... Having an asymmetrical body is though. Feeling lop-sided is definately not a good feeling... Guess you shouldn't paddle behind Rae then... he'll send you crying home to mommy after practice... that is if he doesn't throw you overboard first... Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Your spurts of unprovoked physical violence is a sign that your mental health is slowly beginning to crack. Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? (sorry Rae) :) No, I was just biting my tongue back then. I didn't want to make any "Fresh" kids cry the first time out at practice together. But we're cool now. 8) Title: What makes Dragonboat Fun to you? Post by: zephyrantes on June 10, 2003, 02:50:20 PM sounds like the makings of some of juicy gossip.... please, do share!
