Title: Grey Owl Paddles - 5 grades to choose from.....
Post by: RayRay on April 26, 2005, 11:09:12 PM
I was looking to buy my own paddle and I thought others might be interested in what's I've found. I didn't know there are 5 grades of the Grey Owl paddle:

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, I am an official Grey Owl distributor. I have all (5) grades of the IDBF Certified paddles in stock:

RayRay: I was wondering if you could post up some official weights for each paddle.   I remember reading somewhere that the Pearl actually weighs in a bit heavier than the High-Performance... if that's the case, then what is the benefit of buying the Pearl paddle?   Durability isn't exactly an issue, when compared to the High-Performance...

Also, what kind of product warranty are we looking at for the Pearl, Carbon-Shaft, and Jet paddles?

From the numbers posted on Grey Owl's website... I find it strange that their composite paddles are actually just as heavy as their wooden ones.
REGULAR - 623.68g
HI-PERFORMANCE - 510.29g
CARBON-SHAFT - 453.59g
PEARL - 623.68g
JET - 510.29g

And for comparison here's some other paddles
Burnwater Reactor - 430-460 grams w/ carbon T
Simon River Sports - 450-510g on average depending on paddle length.
ZRE - 411.06-453.59g on average depending on paddle length and handle.

The Bracsa is 430gm as well with a laminated wooden palm grip.
