Title: paddles Post by: Imposter on September 21, 2004, 10:54:46 AM 202 is the specification number from the IDBF. Current approved spec is 202 b. I think old spec paddles are grandfathered until 2005.
Wouldn't worry about Alcan. The spec only really applies to IDBF races, like the world championships. I doubt Alcan will buy a whole slew of new club paddles for the race just to meet current IDBF spec (but then again, these are the same dummies who were involved in the gemini purchase...). In the off chance your paddle doesn't qualify and you don't want to spend $45 for a new paddle, use one of the paddles they provide.
