ICF Board of Directors endorsed actions in the area of Dragonboat Racing

The ICF Board of Directors during their last meeting in Santiago de Compostela held on April 17th, 2004, endorsed the actions of this International Federation concerning its Dragonboat Racing discipline.

The members of the Board unanimously supported the proposals of Chairman François Ryffel to hold from 2005 ICF Dragonboat Racing World Championships, to be conducted as Club Crew event in 2005 and 2007 and National event in 2006.

ICF Chairman of the Dragonboat Racing Committee François Ryffel stated about the results:

“We are inviting crews from all National Federations affiliated to ICF to the 1st ICF Dragonboat Racing World Championships as a Club Crews World Championships in 2005.

The Dragonboat Racing competitions of the 2005 IWGA World Games in Duisburg on July 17th to 18th, 2004, will be open to National Teams coming from ICF affiliated NFs only.”

So ... you will need to be a member of a Canoe Federation to participate in these races.
