So I guess by your standards, any coach that doesn't place his team in a top 3 finish overall isn't worth listening to? I pretty sure he's paddled before since I highly doubt DragonZone would be run by a non-paddler. i've met him, once or twice. nice guy, older, confidant, uncondascending, generally good spirited and friendly. For someone that has so much knowledge about the local scene, it's pretty strange that you don't know who Dario is... From what I know, he used to coach Alpha Highschool's junior team back in the mid-90's and they've been quite a formidable team (1st place finishers 2 or 3 years?) compared to other junior teams at the time. It also helped that he basically had Alpha's rugby team for his male portion of his teams back then... compared to most teams who had paddlers that weren't active in other sports.
