Title: New Eastern Canada Race Organizer & Carbon-Kevlar Boats Post by: paddleBOT on January 25, 2004, 07:37:26 AM There's a new race/festival organizer in Eastern Canada. They have some interesting developments. I copied some of the interesting points from their web site: http://www.paddlesportracing.com
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The concept of the company has come about through months of consultation with Dragonboat teams and individuals involved in the sport. In the end it was clear, for their dollar, Dragonboat paddlers were increasingly asking for the same three things, quality, innovation and competitive pricing. .... To that extent we began the search for quality waters. This meant the ability for wide lanes, deep water and minimal to no current .... We also want to be innovators of the sport. Both races will incorporate a 250 metre, 500 metre and the exciting 2k course working towards a point system champion. Our boats will also be cutting edge of technology. We are pleased to introduce the Pel 1000 Carbon-Kevlar Dragon Boat from the Netherlands. This boat is designed from the IDBF mold of the fibreglass boat Pel offers, but is more rigid and half the weight with the boat coming in at roughly 250-275 pounds (half that of a BuK). These rockets on water should make for some spectacular races. PaddleSport Racing is also pleased to be the exclusive distributor of the Carbon-Kevlar and the Fibreglass IDBF-approved version of the Pel boat in North America. Very soon we will have the pricing available for these boats to you, and we think you will be very pleased. |
